In collaboration with the Nigerian Army and the Borno State government, Princess Modupé and Empower 54 initiated the evacuation of 1,800 severely malnourished IDP children from Boko Haram’s stronghold in Bama, Borno State on June 13th and 15th 2016,
Post events of the evacuations led MSF/Doctors Without Boarders to visit Bama on June 21st 2016 and release a statement on June 22nd where they acknowledged a "local NGO" evacuated the children on June 13th and 15th.
The controversy #MSF report led the Nigerian government to declare malnutrition an epidemic in Nigeria and put mechanisms in place to combat it.

Nobel Laureate, global peace advocate and humanitarian, His Emeritus, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Empower 54's Patron, sends emotional message.
He expressed his wholehearted support for Empower 54's charitable activities for victims of Boko Haram through its Rise Above Terror campaign.
Congressman Kwanza Hall presenting Princess Modupé an Official Proclamation for service to humanity on the behalf of members of the Atlanta City Council and behalf of the citizens of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Empower 54 (formerly BEARS Foundation/Body Enhancement Foundation) distributed 600 50kg bags of rice donated by the Nigeria Customs Service across 48 communities (28 land & 20 riverine only assessable via sea) and donated reading glasses and medication in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
Princess Modupé led the team in high-powered gunboats provided by the Nigerian Navy and 2 private speed boats converting rice. They travelled 3 hours into Bayelsa's dangerous creeks to distribute food and had the privilege of spending the night at the highly secured Formosa Naval base in deep in the Bayelsa creeks.
Our Rise Above Terror rehabilitation campaign for survivors of insurgency were in Gombe, Adamawa and Borno States, Nigeria.
In Yola, Adamawa, we established and financially sustained a school at the Girie IDP camp for 501 children and provided all learning materials including uniforms and shoes. In addition, we hired teachers amongst the IDPs and paid them for the 6 months for the duration of the camp's existance.
Princess Modupé is fearless and declares the "best seat on a speed boat is ON the boat! "
After many days traveling via boat to many communities, Princess Ozolua almost lost track of her location.
Thanks to the Nuns in Mushie for giving us their personal rooms for the night 💖
23 hrs via boat to 8 towns in 6 days to flag-off our free distribution of Albendazole and Vitamin A for 620,000 children in Province du Mai-Ndombe, DRC
Love to the thousands of people that happily welcomed their “Mama Princess Modupe” at every location!
We love you too!
Sometimes, outreach programs turn violent when people become desperate to receive donated items. This was the case when beneficiaries attacked each other during our program in Sabongidda-Ora, Edo State.
While some people obtained greater injuries, Princess Modupé and other team members sustained cuts from being attacked by the crowd trying to forcefully take away items.
We might occasionally take fun pictures but in-between shots, we are tirelessly working hard to help others.
Despite Princess Modupé contracting malaria during this program, was on medication and receiving injections daily; she was on her feet along with the team working.
Tedious set up, preparations and disbursement of free medication to hundred of women and children at each location is better experienced than explained.
Despite it all, we love working with all governments, staff and other partners in achieving our goals of helping people.
Day 11 in Edo State. 20 more days to go 🕒
